Who we are
This site is run by PoLi Mini Library, sold through the Chisel and Layer shop on Etsy. It helps owners of PoLi mini books set up their NFC tags, make cover labels, and find books to read. In this policy, “we” means PoLi Mini Library and “you” means anyone using the site.
What we collect
- NFC tag taps. When a PoLi tag that still points at this site is tapped, we record which tag it was, the time, your browser and device type (the “user agent”), and the page that sent you, if any. We use this to see that tags work and which pages people use. It is not linked to your name.
- Cover maker descriptions. If you use “Generate art,” the description you type is sent to our image provider to make the picture. Your IP address is held in memory for up to an hour to limit how many covers can be made, and is not saved. For the cover code from your box, we keep how many covers it has used and when it was last used. Codes aren't linked to your name or order, and your browser remembers your code so you don't have to retype it.
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps short-term technical logs, such as IP address, time, and page requested, for security and troubleshooting.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for your name, email, or address on this site, and there are no accounts. Photos you add to the cover maker with “Use my own photo” stay on your device. They are laid out in your browser and never uploaded to us. Links you write onto your tags with an NFC app are stored only on the tags, not on our servers. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Your Etsy order
When you buy from our Etsy shop, Etsy handles payment and shares your name, shipping address, and order details with us so we can make and ship your order. That information is covered by Etsy's privacy policy. We use it only to fill, ship, and support your order, and we never add it to this site.
Amazon links
Book links on this site go to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, PoLi earns from qualifying purchases. When you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies and collect information under Amazon's privacy notice. Book details and covers come from Google Books. Your browser loads cover images from Google, so Google can see that request.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that run the site: Netlify (hosting), Supabase (database and cover functions), and OpenAI (cover art, only the description you type). Each processes it on our behalf. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We would disclose information only if the law required it.
How long we keep it
Tag tap records are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Hosting logs are kept for the short period our provider sets. Etsy order details are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by messaging us through our Etsy shop. Because tag taps aren't tied to names, tell us roughly when and which tag you tapped so we can find the records. If you rewrite your tags to your own links, taps no longer reach this site at all. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have extra rights under local law, and we'll honor them.
Children
PoLi is decor for adults, and this site isn't meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date at the top.
